Today I am doing review of the new MailIt Plugin

MailIt is a plugin that will allow you to do email marketing using wordpress without the high costs of a third party autoresponder such as AWeber or Get Response. It becomes available on August 19, 2016 at 11am EST. The vendors are Mike Thomas (Mike From Maine) and Brett Rutecky who are the creators of products such as Profit Canvas and SociVids.

Why You Need MailIt

I’m pretty sure I don’t need to explain to you how important email marketing is. Having a list of subscribers/customers that you can communicate with is the most important asset that you can have in your business. Email marketing has been proven year after year to have the best return on investment of any marketing platform. Its as simple of this; if you don’t have an email list you don’t have a business.

However, to successfully do this the average business owner (yes email marketing is for everyone not just internet marketers) has had to use a third party service such as Aweber, Mailchimp or Get Response. These companies specialise in email marketing and therefore you benefit from their expertise and reputation with email services such as Yahoo and Gmail when you use their platform.

There are some issue though involved in using these services:

• Its their platform, so you don’t have full control over the most important asset in your business
• They have been known to close accounts without notice or explanation basically destroying your business overnight
• They are expensive. They all have recurring costs that increase with the number of subscribers that you have
• They are often targeted by spammers and hackers, which will affect your ability to use their service

Therefore the market has really been screaming out for a reliable self hosted alternative for a while now. Brett the developer of Mail It, created the plugin because he had issues with Aweber. But the problem is not unique to Aweber as Get Response has also had similar issues which I have experienced personally. The truth is these big companies will always be targeted by spammers.

What Is Included

Mail It comes with most of the features you will find with the market leaders in autoresponders. They include:

Its important to state that this plugin has been developed by a 7 figure earner per year marketer. What is more important is that he has put his trust in his own product and runs his entire email marketing business with this.

Mail it gives you the option to use your existing hosting to send emails for free or you can use a premium SMTP relay provider such as Amazon SES to send your emails dirt cheap. Currently they charge $1 to send 10,000 emails which would work out cheaper than what you pay Aweber or Get Response.

The Verdict

The Mail It plugin is one of those no brainer deals that rarely come along. The reality is that you must utilise email marketing in your business, and to be able to pay a one time fee to do this is probably the deal of the year. Also because its a one time fee you can use Mail It with your existing autoresponder, use it as a backup or use it exclusively when you are comfortable that it outperforms your existing service.
